Goal: By December 10, 2013 I will have used 5 different instructional strategies, while maintaining an environment conducive to student learning through assessment of student needs.

During my practicum I was able to experiment with a variety of instructional strategies and technologies including the following:
Next Steps:
My next steps in professional growth are to help learners see all areas of their intelligence by incorporating instructional strategies that highlight multiple intelligences. Keeping in mind that no lesson is going to work for 100% of students, the key is variation and balance in a week or months worth of lessons.

- Give students a "Get to Know You Quiz" to identify learning preferences
Reflection:
During my practicum I was able to experiment with a variety of instructional strategies and technologies including the following:
- I used Padlet to facilitate group brainstorming while comparing and contrasting texts
- Literature circles allowed each student to represent and aspect of the text in a different way and then share it with a group.
- I incorporated a classroom blog where students posted there work and responded to questions posed by myself to further understanding of theme in a text
- We used QR Codes to jigsaw learning about Alberta's Natural Regions
- One Word summary was used to help students capture main ideas from text
Next Steps:
